Newport Makes A Splash in Star Magazine

(with Reality Star Chris Lambton at the Helm)

I don’t know if I’d call grocery shopping fun, but I do cap the chore with a little gossip-mag wrap up at check out (really? A Kardashian is pregnant? Isn’t that like the millionth time?) So imagine my surprise when I flipped open the current issue of STAR magazine and recognize Newport in a full-page spread.

This summer, I had the pleasure of sipping Stoli Dolis on the patio 22 Bowen’s with Chris Lambton, last season’s Bachelorette first place runner up (Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky fell for Roberto Martinez and his seductive Latin dance moves instead). The Cape Cod native was in Newport for a photo shoot in advance of Providence appearances (where the Providence College feels at home). With family here in Newport, the teacher-turned-landscaper was more than happy to spend some time in the City-by-the-Sea, and was  gracious with the gaggles of giggling gals who came up to the table for autographs, photos and get the reality star’s scoop. “It’s been very surreal,” he told me, adding that at least a dozen letters arrive on his doorstep daily and he’s made peace with cars slowly driving by the house, some stopping to snap pics. “Its not something I’m used to,” he blushes. “It’s just so much fun, and if people are happy…”

Lambton was jetted around town by photographer Shawna Sampson, who calls Newport “photographer’s dream location” for shoots (her images were used in the STAR spread).  “The endless exquisite backdrops – the ocean, the mansions, the sprawling greens – make it nearly impossible to chose just a few!” Shawna took Chris to Castle Hill, Battery Park and Bowen’s Wharf, calling the easy-on-the-eyes star sweet, down to earth, laid back, polite and a great catch. “Honestly, I have no idea how he is still single. Any lady would be lucky to spend time with him,” she says. “I’ve spent time with many people who are in the entertainment industry and Chris is so much different than anyone that I have ever met … He was so nice to every fan that stopped him throughout our outing, yet he never stopped saying how bizarre it was that all of these people knew who he was.” With some family here in Newport, says Shawna, “don’t be surprised if you see him around town, maybe grabbing something sweet from The Cookie Jar!”

Chris Lambton reveals the real reason why he turned down The Bachelor in the new issue of Star Magazine.

According to the mag, Lambton was offered six figures and his choice to film anywhere in the world.

He says, “They really wanted me, so they were open to my input and my ideas. I just knew it didn’t feel right.”

Lambton also says, “When my kids are 20 years old and looking for love, I want to say, ‘This is the amazing story

of how I met your mom,’ not, ‘Oh, yeah, she was the best of 25.’”

Good point Chris!!

“Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” Favorites Come to Providence

Friday, August 27, 2010

Andrea E. McHugh, GoLocalProv Lifestyles Editor

Among the lovelorn passengers aboard the gondolas that will parade down the Providence River during this Saturday’s WaterFire will be two familiar faces from two ABC’s hit reality shows: Chris Lambton, Ali Fedotowsky's runner-up on this summer’s sixth season of “The Bachelorette;” and Gia Allemand, a finalist “The Bachelor,” season 14, and the currently-airing spinoff, “Bachelor Pad.”

“It’s been very surreal,” is how Lambton describes his “Bachelorette” experience over lunch in Newport. Though the final episode of his season aired earlier this month, taping wrapped much earlier in the summer and Lambton says that time has mended his broken heart–as have throngs of admirers. “People drive by our house, take pictures, people are leaving gifts on our porch–its crazy,” he says, and that’s in addition to the dozen or so letters he receives daily, his growing fan base on Facebook and swelling followers on Twitter.

“The beach that I’ve been going to for 33 years, I went there two weeks ago after work, on a Monday, with my dad and my brother at like four in the afternoon. We get out of the water and the next thing you know, there’s like 50-60 people around me, like the whole beach flocked to me and were taking pictures, and its not something I’m used to, it’s just so much fun,” beams Lambton.

A Bright Future

Since the show wrapped in August, rumors have been swirling that Lambton is being highly touted for the next season of “The Bachelor,” but the 33-year-old landscaper from Dennis, Massachusetts, is hush-hush about future involvement with the program. He says his first foray into television has already opened a lot of doors, and he’s currently looking overonsidering “a lot of opportunities.”  Lambton, a division-one track athlete during his time at Providence College, has already lent his newly-found fame to philanthropic endeavors, raising more than $10,000 for Compassionate Care ALS by competing in the Falmouth Road Race two weeks ago and playing in the Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic in North Carolina.

Lambton and Allemand’s appearances include a meet and greet for fans at Shark Sushi Bar and Grille on Thayer Street from 1-4pm; WaterFire, with fires to be lit shortly after sunset (7:26pm); and partying the night away at Monet Lounge on Harris Avenue.

Exclusive: Chris Lambton: I'd Do The Bachelor if I Could "Break the Rules"

Thursday – August 26, 2010 – 5:55pm

Bachelorette runner-up Chris Lambton may not accept a rose from ABC. A show insider tells Us Weekly that the landscaper, 33 -- who is being wooed by producers to be the next Bachelor -- is getting cold feet.

"He thought it was weird to have people watch him so closely on the show," the source says. Indeed, the pal says Lambton regrets talking on TV about his mom's death from cancer. And joining the show isn't something he takes lightly.

"If I was going to do it, it'd be on my own terms," he told Us August 22 at the Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Although Lambton wouldn't confirm to Us whether he had officially turned down ABC, he added: "I'd want to do it the right way for myself in order to end up with the perfect girl for me. If I needed to break the rules, so be it."

Producers (who insiders say have no backup) are still hoping he says yes. "They haven't given up," says the source.

Chris Lambton Still Considering The Bachelor

August 25, 2010

Don’t count Chris Lambton out of the upcoming season of The Bachelor just yet!

Although the Cape Cod, Mass., landscaper is reportedly hesitant about continuing his search for love on reality TV, he also hasn’t completely ruled it out.

“There’s an ongoing dialogue,” Bachelor and Bachelorette host Chris Harrison tells PEOPLE. “I was just with him this weekend in North Carolina and we talked about the show … it may be right for him, but it may not be.”

But just because Lambton is a gentleman — one who accepted Ali Fedotowsky‘s ultimate decision and wished her well — doesn’t mean he’s the perfect candidate for the show.

“You have to take aside the clamoring of millions of fans [who] want him to be the Bachelor just because they [want] to wish him well,” Harrison says. “But they don’t necessarily know what’s right for him or what’s right for the show.”

At the end of the day, it will be Lambton who needs to decide whether it’s a right fit or not. Says Harrison, “I don’t want to push him into something he’s not ready to do, or it’s not going to be right and we’ll all end up regretting [it].”

And while Lambton’s search for love on TV may still be up in the air, two other franchise alumni have found their match — and Harrison couldn’t be happier.

“I wish them the best,” he says about Jesse Csincsak and Ann Lueders, whom he considers family.

And though he’s received an invite for their wedding this weekend, Harrison won’t be able to make it. He’ll be hosting TV Guide’s Emmys Red Carpet with Chris Harrison on Sunday — which he’s also executive producing with his own production company, Harrison Productions. –Eunice Oh

CHRIS LAMBTON Bachelorette Star, Crazy Bachelor Party, Dating New Love Interest?

CHRIS LAMBTON Bachelorette Star, Crazy Bachelor Party, Dating New Love Interest?

Cape Cod cutie and former Bachelorette star, Chris Lambton may be getting back into the dating game . This last weekend, he attended his brother’s Bachelor party and they had an outdoors boys weekend, rafting in Maine. His bro is getting married this fall and they decided to have some old fashioned fun, no strip clubs for these guys.

According to the Inside Track, the girls in Maine went CRAZY over Chris Lambton, hoping they might score a date with the potential new ABC Bachelor. Lambton was seen with 20 other guys at Three Rivers Whitewater Rafting camp along the Kennebec River.

“Yup, it was him all right,” Three Rivers owner Joe Christopher told the Track. “He was here for a bachelor party – swear to God.”

The Bachelor party took two cabins at the “Home of Serious Fun” in The Forks, Chris Lambton partied at Boatman’s Bar and Grill, plus happily posed for pictures with Bachelorette fans and would be date mates.

“It was crazy at the Boatman’s, there was a big party, dancing, The Mob was playing on Saturday night, and Chris’ buddies were certainly catching the perks,” laughed Christopher. “He had a lot of wingmen.”

One gal named Kristen, we hear, may have made a love connection with Lambton. But one of her BFFs reports Kristen hasn’t yet been invited down to Dennis. Oh no, if Chris Lambton gets a girlfriend, I guess that means he definitely won’t be the new Bachelor this season. Go away Kristen, or send in a video to Bachelor casting.

The message boards over at ABC have been blowing up, asking Mike Fleiss to choose Chris Lambton as their next Bachelor. One rumor is he was offered over $500k to take the gig. Sounds like a lot of money, Astrochicks wonders if he really was offered that much? If so, I hope he definitely takes it. We want Chris Lambton the sexy Aries guy to find love, but we also want front row seats to all the action.

The new Bachelor announcement is expected to be made in September. Stay tuned.

August 13: "Bachelor Party" for A.L.S.

The A.L.S. Family Charitable Foundation will be a part of the CIGNA Falmouth Road Race’s “Numbers for Non-Profits” program for the first time this year and has recruited 106.1 WCOD’s “Dan & Stephanie” in a little friendly competition to benefit our cause!

Dan and Stephanie have been on the air together since March of 2003, making them the longest running Morning Show on Cape Cod.   Known for their “brother and sister” style bantering, the two often compete in various bets against each other resulting in one of them indebted to the other.

The latest Dan and Stephanie bet is on!  The two are running as part of the A.L.S. Family Charitable Foundation’s fundraising team and are asking listeners to pick a side – who will finish first, Dan or Stephanie?  Listeners are urged to make a donation to the A.L.S. Family Charitable Foundation under whichever DJ’s fundraising page (www.firstgiving.com) they think will win the bet.  The race will take place on Sunday, August 15, 2010.

As part of their fundraising efforts, Dan and Stephanie have enlisted the help of ABC’s The Bachelorette runner-up, Chris Lambton of Dennis, MA.  Chris lost his mother to A.L.S., putting the cause near and dear to his heart.  The three will be hosting a “Bachelor Party” at Trader Ed’s (Hyannis, MA) on Friday, August 13, 2010 from 6-8 PM. Cost to attend is by donation with proceeds to benefit the A.L.S. Family Charitable Foundation.  Appetizers are courtesy of Trader Ed’s and musical entertainment will be provided by Mike Hennessey.  Raffle prize is donated by WCOD.

The Bachelorette 2010 - Chris Lambton Talks About His Dating Future

The Bachelorette is done for another season, and that means it is definitely time to look ahead to the next season of The Bachelor. Chris Lambton, one of the last two men left standing this season in Ali Fedotowsky's quest for love, seems to be the ideal choice for the next season of The Bachelor.

However, he has not decided yet if he wants to take the plunge and do the journey again from the other side of the coin. He didn't seem too keen on the idea when he spoke to E! News immediately following the finale. Now he has talked to Entertainment Tonight about the possibility of looking for love again and what is he looking for in his ideal mate.

He had this to say to Entertainment Tonight: "See, the funny thing is I don't think I look for certain qualities. I just think it's based on like chemistry. It's like, you know, when you meet a girl, it should just be like an instantaneous click. You see her and you're like, "Yes, I'm going to spend the rest of my life with this girl. I would do anything to be with her, I would love her 'till the day she dies." So, I think it's just the chemistry. It's just something that will punch you in the side of the head and I'll just think, "Yes, this is the one."

He sounds like such a down to earth and good guy. No idea if he will take the leap to become the next bachelor, but if he does the season would be something to see!
