THE BACHELORETTE 6, EPISODE 4: CHRIS LAMBTON’S PLAN TO WOO ALI

Next week Ali Fedotowsky and the remaining 11 bachelors take a trip to New York. Ali arrives in New York City earlier to participate in a fun make-over and photo shoot for InStyle magazine.

This time around Ali goes on a one-on-one date with Kasey Kahl, the emotional disaster looking for a place to happen. They are treated to a helicopter tour over Manhattan and a trip to Liberty Island, where they share a romantic picnic while enjoying the sunset. After the picnic the date takes a mysterious twist. Was Ali the mastermind behind this bizarre adventure? If that’s the case, it makes me wonder whether she was influenced by the 2006 adventure-comedy film Night at the Museum. I guess now you are catching on. That’s right; Ali takes Kasey for a nighttime exploration of the Museum of Natural History by flashlight. Maybe she is curious to find out whether the exhibits actually do come to life at night. Wouldn’t it be fun to see the skeleton of the Tyrannosaurus Rex come to life and act like a mischievous dog or meet the capuchin monkey named Dexter?

It is also a great opportunity for Kasey to be her knight in shining armor. He can prove his allegiance to Ali by saving her from the night monsters. In any case, they enjoy having the empty museum all to themselves. As if alarmed by an intuitive hunch, at the end of the date Ali does not give Kasey a rose. However, she does ask him to stay. Apparently, Ali is not sure about Kasey; she needs more time to figure him out and make the final decision.

During a group date, Ali and the seven bachelors (Jonathan, Kirk, Roberto, Craig, Ty, Jesse, and Frank) visit Broadway’s landmark musical The Lion King.

“And the lights of Broadway are not far behind, as Ali auditions seven men to try and sing and dance their way into her heart with the hopes of being chosen to be featured with her in that night’s performance of the landmark Tony Award-winning musical, “The Lion King.” ABC Press Release

Roberto wins the competition and he and Ali get to perform a scene in the Lion King on Broadway. There is no rose given out on this group date.

And finally, we get to see Ali on a one-on-one date with Chris Lambton, one of the rumored finalists. Unfortunately, they haven’t had quality time yet. At this point in the game, Chris has to come out of his shell to spark some chemistry and passion with Ali. It is obvious that Ali likes the guy, she is eager to get to know him better. It is interesting to see how this romantic date is going to play out. In my opinion, Chris failed to effectively utilize his one-on-one time with Ali this week. He had a little chat about things related to Boston, his fondness of oysters; he also told Ali that he likes to compete in flip cup competitions. Wow! Isn’t that exciting! Personally, I don’t consider his conversation with Ali very impressive. While Frank, Kirk and Roberto busted a move and kissed Ali, Chris has been moving at a snail’s pace.

This one-on-one date coincides with Lambton’s birthday. In the beginning, it appeares as if fate is against Chris. Exhausted and emotionally drained Ali can’t keep up with the schedule. Hence, she is forced to cancel her date with Chris. But that’s when his experience as the caregiver comes in handy. He brings Ali flowers and some nurturing chicken soup. The formula works and Ali feels better. She takes him out for a romantic dinner and a rooftop private performance by one of her favorite singer-songwriters, Joshua Radin, and the famed Harlem Boys Choir. In the end, Chris gets the rose. Score one for Chris.

Meanwhile, to commemorate his love for Ali, Kasey secretly sneaks out to get a tattoo of a shield with a heart and a rose behind it on his wrist. How touching! He comes back to the house with a bandage on his wrist. The guys become suspicious and a confrontation ensues. Before the Rose Ceremony, Kasey gives in and shows the guys his tattoo, but he keeps his secret from Ali. Apparently, he doesn’t want a sympathy rose and decides to save the surprise for a better opportunity in the future.

The Rose Ceremony takes place on the rooftop of a hotel. Jesse Beck and the oversensitive, male prima donna Jonathan Novack are eliminated.
