Three events to benefit NOAH Center

Local musicians take on the cause of homelessness at three blockbuster musical events to benefit the NOAH Center in Hyannis.


First the Chatham Chorale will perform George Frideric Handel's “Messiah” at 8 p.m. Friday at the First Congregational Church of Chatham, 650 Main St. The chorale has offered this fundraising event for Housing Assistance Corp. for more than 25 years, and audience members are invited to join in the performance, if desired, by showing up at 6 p.m. for sign-up and rehearsal. Singers will be asked to contribute $5, and other concertgoers can make a free-will donation. Information: www.chathamchorale.org or 508-556-2707.


At 7 p.m. Sunday, the annual Cape Cod Christmas Cavalcade offers a rocking good time at the Jailhouse Tavern, 28 West Road, Orleans, with performances by some of the most popular local bands, including the Chandler Travis Philharmonic, the Ticks, Toast & Jam, the Shook Fambly Singers, Sarah Swain, the Rip-It-Ups, the Catbirds, Crabgrass, Fred Fried, the Flakes, Rock King, Fred Magee, the Nubile Hip, Tripping Lily, David Roth, Steven Russell, Now You and the Athol Thingerth. You can sit by the fire in your own home and enjoy the NOAH Telethon from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday on cable channels 13 and 17 or streamed live at www.capemedia.org. “The Bachelorette” runner-up Chris Lambton of Dennis will co-host along with Mindy Todd, host of “The Point” on WCAI radio; Paul Pronovost, editor of the Cape Cod Times; Suzanne Tonaire, disc jockey on Dunes 102 WGTX; and Rick Brigham, NOAH development coordinator. Enjoy prerecorded performances by Patty Larkin, Brian Sances, Ceej and Friends, Social Defiance, Funktapuss, Groovy Acoustic, Jo & Co, and the Dan Lawson Band and hear stories from people whose lives have been helped by the NOAH Center.
