Love blooms for ‘Bachelorette’ hunk

Dennis landscaper Chris Lambton did not find love on “The Bachelorette.” And he turned down a chance to make another run for the roses as the star of “The Bachelor.” But don’t cry for Ali Fedowtowsky’s castoff because Chris has a new galpal!

“I found a very nice girl all by myself,” Chris told the Track. “She’s a nice Southern girl. We’ve been dating for a few months.”

Chris wouldn’t give us all the deets because, he said, he’s kind of tired of having his private life way out there in the open. But we did manage to worm out of him that he met his new paramour, who is from Tennessee and Texas, at a fund-raiser. And that she’s in marketing.

“Would you want to give us her name?” we politely inquired.

“Definitely not,” the Cape hunk replied.

Oh well...

Lambton said he is still friends with with Ali and Roberto Martinez, the man she chose over him at the end of last season’s “The Bachelorette.”

“When Ali came up to throw out the first pitch at at Fenway we all met up and hung out,” he said. “He’s a great guy, she’s a very nice girl and they make a nice couple. I’m glad for them. When you go through a process like that, hopefully, whether you end up with the girl or not, you are still friends. And I think on the show we were more friends than anything else, so it was an easy step to take.”

After Ali gave Roberto the final rose — and they are still together, BTW — Chris was offered a shot at starring in the new season of “The Bachelor,” which comes back to ABC in January. Much to the producers’ chagrin, he turned it down, and they were left with hated “Bachelor” retread Brad Womack — the man who rejected all 25 women last time around!

“I wanted to find love on my own and not have an agenda like they do with a show that’s looking for ratings,” Chris said, adding that he didn’t feel up for putting his love life on public display all over again.

“To see me out on dates with 25 girls, kissing them, that’s too personal. It’s stuff that should be kept between a man and a woman,” he said. “You really don’t need people in your room watching what’s going on... and that’s basically what the show is.”

That said, Chris said he has no regrets over his stint on prime time. For one thing, there are all those cards, letters, gifts and mix tapes that smitten ladies have left on his doorstep!

“Oh, yeah, it’s crazy,” he laughed. “I have a huge box full. It’s extremely flattering. Last winter at this time I was just hanging out with my brothers and no one cared. It’s been a strange turn of events.”

The dating show fame also allowed Chris to do some good for the causes that are near to his heart. He raised nearly $300,000 for Compassionate Care ALS, an organization that helped his family tremendously when his mom, Marjorie, was dying of Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Last week he did a radioathon with Cambridge comic Lenny Clarke for the Franciscan Hospital for Children. And this week, Chris is helping the homeless on Cape Cod, raffling off a chance to date him for a donation to the NOAH Shelter in Hyannis.

“It’s all in good fun,” he said. “I think the date will be at a restaurant around here. I’m not even in the know on this, the NOAH people set it all up. But those are questions I probably should ask... Instead, I just try to roll with it.”

If you want a shot to stare into Chris’ eyes over a plate of pasta, do go to noahtelethon.com and make a donation of at least $90 and you will be entered in the raffle But hurry, Chris is picking the winner live on Cape radio station WCOD-FM tomorrow morning.

Everyone seems to be rooting for these two to make it. Two classy, great people who have waited for their soulmate. Much love and happiness to both of them. It's a perfect match to me.

We should all be happy for Chris... and Peyton too! I think it's terrific and what a way for them ring in the New Year.
It's also good that they're having a "long distance" relationship so that they can have the fun waiting until the next time they see each other! It's way better than meeting someone on a tv show, quickly getting to know them and then BAM... you're living together. I believe his mom's rainbow at the end of the show was a sign from her that there was someone better suited for him out there and it was Peyton!!!

I find it interesting that many do not look at Chris or Peyton as celebrities, but just as very nice people. In fact ordinary is the type of person that Chris projects. No big deal to raise lots of monies for charities, he just seems happy to be able to do it. I personally like him because he is a very loyal person to his family and friends and says nothing negative about anyone. He has not let the attention or his good deeds change him. We should all be like that. Peyton is lucky to find someone like him as he is also very fortunate to find her. My guess is they will make it together as they are both down to earth people. I sure hope so!!!!!
